Night City Mux
"Night City. A place that chews you up and spits you out. But you keep coming back. We all do."
Welcome to Night City[edit | edit source]
The year is 2076. The smoke has barely cleared from the Unification War. Militech has absorbed Arasaka's North American operations. The NUSA tightens its grip on what remains of the free states. And Night City? Night City doesn't care. It never did.
It has been fifty years since Morgan Blackhand and Adam Smasher clashed atop Arasaka Tower. fifty years since the Relic changed everything. The megacorps rebuild. The gangs regroup. And on the streets of Watson, Heywood, Pacifica and the Badlands beyond — Edgerunners still hustle, bleed, and burn bright before burning out.
This is Night City MUSH — a text-based roleplaying game built on Evennia, set in the world of Cyberpunk Red. Whether you run the streets as a chrome-plated Solo, jack into the blackened NET as a Netrunner, or broker deals in the shadows as a Fixer — your story starts here.

The State of the City[edit | edit source]
Night City is divided. The Megacorps claw back their power from fortified towers in the City Center. The NCPD patrols what they can — which isn't much. Beyond the thin blue line, the streets belong to whoever is strong enough to hold them.
- Watson — Former Arasaka territory, now a chaotic mix of immigrants, gang turf and black market bazaars. Home to the Maelstrom and their chrome obsession.
- Westbrook — Japantown and Charter Hill. Corporate money meets underground pleasure. Where the Tyger Claws run the night.
- Heywood — Deep in Valentinos territory. Latino culture, gang loyalty, and streets soaked in neon and blood.
- Pacifica — Abandoned by the corps, ruled by the Voodoo Boys. The NET runs deep here and the old resorts rot in the salt air.
- Santo Domingo — Industrial heart of the city. Power plants, factories and the 6th Street gang waving their NUSA flags.
- The Badlands — Beyond the city walls. Nomad territory. Clan wars, Militech convoys and the bones of the old world bleaching in the sun.
Timeline[edit | edit source]
| Year | Event |
|---|---|
| 2004-2006 | The First Corporate War. The megacorps wage economic and military war across the globe. Night City is a neon-soaked battleground of chrome, corruption and opportunity. The NET is a wild and open frontier — and the corps want it all. |
| 2022 | The DataKrash. The old NET dies overnight. Rogue AIs unleashed during the war tear through cyberspace leaving nothing but scorched data and dead Netrunners in their wake. The Blackwall goes up. What lies beyond it is something no one wants to think about. The megacorps retreat. The world starves. |
| 2023 | The Night City Holocaust. Militech and Arasaka bring their war to the streets. The battle culminates atop Arasaka Tower where Morgan Blackhand makes his last stand. A tactical nuclear device detonates. Fifty thousand dead. The city burns. The world watches. |
| 2023 - 2040 | The Time of the Red. Night City claws its way back from the ashes. New NET protocols emerge — local, fragmented, dangerous. The corps rebuild quietly. On the streets a new generation of Edgerunners are born into a world that was broken before they opened their eyes. They don't know any different. This is just how things are. |
| 2069 | The Unification War begins. The New United States of America moves to bring the Free States back under federal control by force. Militech drives the spear. Citizens get caught in the middle. Night City declares neutrality — and means it with guns. |
| 2070 | The Unification War ends. The NUSA wins — mostly. Militech absorbs Arasaka's North American operations in the peace settlement. Arasaka retreats to Japan to lick its wounds. The corps begin their quiet war all over again, this time with smiles and shareholder reports instead of street soldiers. For now. |
| 2076 | David Martinez burns bright. A kid from the Heywood flatlands gets his hands on a Sandevistan and makes a name for himself on the streets of Watson and beyond. He runs with the best. He shines like a star. Like all stars he burns out fast. Night City adds another name to its long list of legends it chewed up and spat out. |
| 2076 — NOW | Night City never sleeps. The dust from the Unification War has barely settled. The corps are rebuilding. The gangs are regrouping. The streets are as mean as they ever were. And somewhere out there a new crew of Edgerunners is about to make their mark — or die trying. |
The Megacorporations[edit | edit source]
In 2076 the megacorps are the true governments of the world. They have their own armies, their own laws, and their own agenda. Everyone works for them — whether they know it or not.
| Corporation | Headquarters | Overview |
|---|---|---|
| Arasaka | Tokyo, Japan | The most powerful megacorp in the world. Japanese zaibatsu specializing in security, banking and manufacturing. Their Soulkiller technology haunts the NET. Weakened by the Arasaka Tower bombing but rebuilding fast. |
| Militech | Washington D.C., NUSA | America's premier weapons manufacturer and private military contractor. The de facto army of the NUSA. After the Unification War they absorbed Arasaka's North American operations and now sit at the top of the food chain. |
| Biotechnica | Rome, Italy | Masters of genetic engineering, pharmaceuticals and food production. They own the patents on much of the world's food supply. In a starving world that makes them very powerful indeed. |
| Petrochem | Houston, NUSA | Energy is power and Petrochem controls it. Oil, synthfuels, chemicals and plastics. They keep Night City's lights on and charge whatever they like for the privilege. |
| Trauma Team | Night City, NUSA | Medical services with military precision. If you can afford the premium subscription they will extract you from any situation — guns blazing if necessary. If you can't afford it, good luck. |
| Kang Tao | Chengdu, China | Rising Chinese arms manufacturer rapidly expanding into markets previously dominated by Militech and Arasaka. Their smart weapons technology is cutting edge and their ambitions are global. |
| Zetatech | Night City, NUSA | Mid-tier tech and cyberware manufacturer. They produce affordable chrome for the masses. Not the best quality but when you need an arm and you're short on eddies, Zetatech delivers. |
| Dynalar Technologies | Night City, NUSA | Cyberware specialists producing high quality limbs and sensory augmentations. Their products are a step above Zetatech and a favorite of working Solos who can't quite afford Raven Microcybernetics. |
| Raven Microcybernetics | Night City, NUSA | The premium brand in cyberware. If you want the best chrome money can buy, you go Raven. Favored by corporate security, elite Solos and anyone with more eddies than sense. |
| Sanroo | Tokyo, Japan | Japanese/Korean manufacturer founded by ex-Fujiwara Bank bankers and Tsunami Arms designers. They make gadgets, toys and weapons marketed at women and children. Their Hello Cutie firearm line promises you'll look adorable while you bleed them pink. |
